The bad news is that these safety features are not likely to be turned on for your child because they require that the site knows the age of your child. Instead, most sites are treating your child like an adult and their safety is at risk.

In the early days of the Internet, she wrote a parent's guide to keeping kids safe online as part of the Children's Partnership. Lynzi founded and served as CEO of Schoolzilla, PBC, a data platform for school systems that is benefitting more than 20 million students globally today as part of Renaissance Learning. Lynzi holds a BS from Stanford University in Symbolic Systems and a masters in Computer Science from the Naval Postgraduate School focused on computer security.
